Mos Def x Elegant Boredom x Grammy’s
Last week at Peaches Restaurant, Mos Def and I met for dinner to talk about Elegant Boredom and old Schuyler day memories. As he rocks an official Elegant Boredom bowtie in the pic above, he promised me that he would wear it to the Grammy’s; which aired tonight in LA. We talked, we laughed, and I definitely enjoyed his company. hopefully we can work together in the future.

Above Brooklyn
As I bring myself back to world known as Elegant Boredom, I have begun a book spree. About every two weeks i take a stroll to the neighborhood bookstores; Brownstone Books, or to a Barnes & Nobles to shop for books. May they be photography, fashion, pleasurable reading, or biographies; I’ll purchase the one(s) that catch my eye. During this travel I purchased the magazine Above and the book Brooklyn: Then and Now.
Brooklyn: Then and Now shows the differences and the things that have stayed traditional til today. The different parts of Brooklyn, the famous landmarks and where some of those landmarks moved to. A great buy with lots of information any Brooklynite would enjoy. 
Above Magazine was a very interesting buy. It was a mix between the “Go Green” world and the “Fashion” world. Featuring articles about saving the natural salmon population to the greenness of sexual conducts. Including phenomenal photography of Eva Mendes by Peter Beard

Hope You Aint Forget About Me
So its been a while and I feel that it’s time for my random check up on the EB world. Risley has made some remarkable things happen in my absence and has put EB in the right spot. I had planned to make my reappearance at the Holiday Affair but Delta Air Lines decided to cancel all my flights do to the weather and blah blah blah. Anywho, with my recent relocation out in to the west, we can call it an expansion… What?.. You thought I wasn’t still designing or something?? haha.
Well, this East Coast to West Coast connection will prove to be something extravagant. Be on the look out for the bowties and some other ill quality apparel.

Trey Chique
His mojo, his mystique, and his music.
I. MOJO
If you could jar pheromones and produce cologne from their essence, Trey would be doused in the stuff. Mojo is a charm so powerful that it’s considered magical.
Even though Trey is on his best behavior in light of the fallout from our last interview, he reeks of it. Even though his publicist chaperons this time around and promptly shuts down any sexy-time talk, Trey’s mojo hangs thick and heavy in the air. And yes, he insists on playing Sade as mood music for our interview in the telly suite…
II. MYSTIQUE
Trey knows when to work his mouth and when to slip out of the hot seat. He’s not a tease but he gives just enough to keep you whet. He doesn’t want you leaving completely satisfied so he straddles the line of full-disclosure and mystery. It’s his way of ensuring a chance to give a repeat performance. He’ll definitely keep you guessing; wondering if the things “they say” are true…
III. MUSIC
Ready opens with: “This right here’s a panty-dropper.”
But after a Trey show, the stage is littered with as many panties as pacifiers. JK! But you have to admit, he does have a unique ability to appeal to grown-ass women with tracks like “Neighbors Know My Name” and “Say Ahh” (really?!) without alienating the 106th & Parkers who aren’t old enough to purchase a post-coital stogie. (As gag-worthy as it looks on the track-listing, “LOL Smiley Face” is a genius title.) With chest-pumping declarations like “I Invented Sex,” Honey recommends picking up some prophylactic as soon as you add Ready to your playlist…

The other day, I get home and take a look at the mail. To my surprise I see an envelope from the White House addressed to me (couldn’t be). Open it, and there it is, a holiday card from the White House, signed Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. I’m not sure if it’s actually signed by them personally, or just a print, but nonetheless, it’s a card from the White House!

“Transformations and Transitions”
Last Thursday was a very interesting and productive day. My Alma Mater – Vermont Academy held a gathering at 212 Restaurant to welcome the new Headmaster of Vermont Academy, Sean Brennan. It has been over a year since I have gotten connected with my old High School. I got to see a few of my former classmates along with a few of my favorite teachers; Ms. McIntosh a.k.a. Ms. Mac (She was my prom date senior year). Dont worry, nothing serious, just good clean fun.

Along with a few classmates being there. The Vermont Academy Trustees were there with open helping arms. They loved that the alum were thriving to become entrepeneurs and were willing to help in tremendous ways. Top Hat
“All is fair in love and war, and this is a revolution!” – Fred Astaire (Top Hat, 1935)
The actor, dancer, choreographer, and broadway sensation of the early 1900’s is the epitome of what a gentleman should be. Swift on his feet, kind in the heart, and one who made the lives around him graceful. Along with his adored scene partner Ginger Rogers, Astaire made classics; must see movies for my generation. Their collection of films showed the formalities that our current society should have. The timelessness of chivalry and the way both men and women displayed this as a daily routine. It seemed as if times were easier and more pleasant during the times of Astaire; regardless if these films showed the wealthier side of things.
So, my mother and I just decided to take ballroom dancing classes, I will keep you Boredists informed on where and how the classes go. Keep Posted!!

The moment has come for me to reveal the fruits of my labor. I know that it has been awhile since anyone has seen anything dealing with Elegant Boredom Bowties. These handmade bowties consist of different materials, including: velvet, cotton, denim, satin, and silk will be released in Spring 2010. They range from formal to casual. You can wear these with a nice pair of jeans or your evening Tux; your choice!
